Job summary

WWL-TV, a TEGNA-owned CBS affiliate in New Orleans, seeks a weekend evening Meteorologist to deliver accurate weather forecasts on-air and online across TV, streaming, and social platforms. Requirements include a BA/BS in Meteorology or related field, 2+ years of on-air meteorology experience, and proficiency with posting content to websites and newsroom

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Meteorology, Geoscience, or Atmospheric Science.
• 2+ years on-air meteorology experience preferred.
• Proficient posting content to websites and social media; computer literacy including weather and newsroom systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate weather forecasts in a multi-platform environment.
• Deliver severe weather updates as needed.
• Produce clean graphics to tell the weather story.
• Fill in on other shifts when necessary.
• Write and report from the field or newsroom.
• Update website and interact with viewers on social media daily.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Make public appearances.
