Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an experienced Weekend Veterinary Technician to work in our busy Emergency department. The position offers a pay range of $20.00–$40.50 per hour, with compensation commensurate with experience, licensure and advancement through our leveling system.

You will induce, monitor and recover anesthesia, triage emergencies, perform digital radiography, monitor vitals, manage CPR-ready scenarios, draw blood, place IV catheters and feeding tubes, and mentor teammates.

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia using appropriate equipment and protocols.
• Triage emergency cases, monitor vitals (temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure).
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and positioning.
• Understand normal vitals and oxygen saturation ranges.
• Obtain and interpret vitals and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Compute medical math (CRIs) and administer medications via appropriate routes/durations.
• Phlebotomy and placing IV catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train co-workers; address client concerns with patience and empathy.
