Job summary

Pima Medical Institute is seeking an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA) Instructor to teach weekend continuing education modules at our Colorado Springs campus. This part-time, weekend role offers flexible scheduling and the chance to share clinical expertise with practicing dental professionals.

The position requires EDDA certification/licensure, current CPR, and at least eight years of dental experience. Weekend classes run on Saturdays and Sundays with structured 5-day cycles.

Qualifications

• Active Expanded Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA) certification/licensure.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of practical experience in the dental field.
• Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant program recognized by USDE or CHEA (or equivalent).
• Basic computer proficiency and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive EDDA lectures and hands-on lab training across a structured 5-day weekend schedule (40 hours per cohort).
• Guide students through advanced expanded function techniques with emphasis on safety and clinical standards.
• Grade assignments, evaluate exams, and provide feedback within institutional timelines.
• Maintain attendance logs and document student progress for weekend modules.
• Ensure lab equipment and materials are prepared prior to weekend sessions.
