Job summary

Royal Community Support seeks a compassionate caregiver to support a nonverbal young woman with a disability at Rebecca's Homestead, Wantage, NJ. The role involves direct support in a private apartment, building independence, and engaging in community activities.

Shifts are Fridays–Sundays, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m., with an hourly pay of $23.00. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required to commute and assist with outings.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a wheelchair-accessible van.
• Strong spoken and written English communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care including dressing, toileting, bathing, and hygiene.
• Provide meals and feeding assistance as needed.
• Support transfers and mobility.
• Drive the client in a wheelchair-accessible van to appointments and activities.
• Support participation in community classes and outings.
• Encourage independence and respect patient choices.
• Light housekeeping related to care and living environment.
• Build a positive, respectful relationship based on trust.
