Job summary

AHRC Nassau in Wantagh, NY is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist residents in Community Living Services. This part-time role covers Fridays and Saturdays from 3-11 pm (16 hours per week), focusing on promoting independence, safety, and quality of life.

You will work with individuals to support self-care, health, and daily routines, following agency mission and guiding principles. A high school diploma preferred and a valid NYS driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must submit a valid NYS drivers' license, and maintain a qualified driver status throughout employment.
• Must have the ability to communicate and understand written and oral directives/information

Responsibilities

• Practice and promote the agency’s mission statement and guiding principles in every interaction.
• Provide ongoing support to the people that live in the Community Living Services program to ensure that a high quality of life is maintained.
• Provide support in the areas of, for example, self-care routines, health, safety, household chores, socialization, and overall well-being.
