Job summary

University of Washington Medical Center is seeking a Weekend Custodian on the Seattle campus. The part-time role runs Saturdays and Sundays, 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm, assisting with cleaning, maintenance and event setup to ensure clean, safe spaces for students, staff and visitors.

The position reports to the Custodial Manager and requires regular attendance, English communication, and a valid Washington driver’s license. This is a 50% full-time-equivalent, evening shift role with benefits.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to perform required custodial work.
• Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions in English regarding chemicals, supplies and equipment.
• Possession of a valid Washington State Driver’s License or equivalent; two years driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms and fixtures; refill dispensers.
• Clean boards, dust furniture, sweep/mop floors, empty waste and ashtrays; replace bulbs.
• Set up and take down equipment and furnishings for meetings, classes and events.
• Strip and finish floors; use buffers and vacuum carpets.
• Operate power tools and hand tools for cleaning and maintenance.
• Lock/unlock buildings; report unauthorized occupants.
• Follow safety policies and report repairs; may wash interior/exterior windows.
• May move furniture and equipment as needed; may operate high-pressure washer.
• Perform related duties as required.
