Job summary

Eastern Carver County Schools is seeking a Weekend Custodian for day shift across district facilities. Under general supervision, you will perform cleaning and maintenance tasks and operate cleaning equipment to keep buildings safe and welcoming.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift heavy loads, and compliance with district safety policies. Shift hours include Saturday-Sunday mornings and weekday afternoons; boiler and pool licenses may be needed or pursued.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in cleaning and building maintenance.
• Must be in good general health.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, perform maintenance and cleaning tasks and operation of various types of cleaning equipment to care for and maintain assigned buildings and related facilities; and perform related work as required.
• You may be assigned to work at different buildings depending on the needs of the district.
• Lift 70 lbs waist height occasionally.
• Lift 50 lbs to chest high regularly.
• Extended walking.
• Ability to work with cleaning chemicals.

Position Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Days/Hours: 8.0 hrs/day; Monday - Wednesday: 2:00pm or 2:45pm - 10:30pm or 11:15pm & Saturday - Sunday: 6:00am - 2:30pm
Salary: $25.21/hr. + $0.40/hr. shift differential
Responsible To: Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds, Custodial Supervisor/Head Engineer/Night Lead/Building Principal
Position Purpose: Under general supervision, perform maintenance and cleaning tasks and operation of various types of cleaning equipment to care for and maintain assigned buildings and related facilities; and perform related work as required. You may be assigned to work at different buildings depending on the needs of the district.

• Possess a valid and appropriate level of the State of MN Boilers license and Certified Pool Operator License or obtain within a reasonable timeline

Compensation and Yearly Duration of Employment: This position is posted as a full-time (40 hrs/week), twelve (12) month position. In addition, the pay includes additional pay for each level of boilers license and other applicable license when licenses are obtained. Eligible for benefits as negotiated with Union Local 70 and District 112 plus enrollment in Minnesota's largest retirement pension! This position is eligible for overtime and comp time.
