Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Weekend Controls Technician to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC issues on production equipment at our Kansas City facility. You will analyze equipment, repair systems, and implement PLC changes to improve production reliability.

Shift: Friday–Sunday 6:00am–6:00pm after an initial day-shift training period. We offer day-one health insurance, paid time off, holidays, and a $5,000 sign-on bonus to join our team.

Qualifications

  • 2 years experience in a closely related role is required.
  • Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
  • Enterprise Asset Management software experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Observes functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
  • Proficiently use ladder logic programming with experience in the Allen Bradley platform based programming, including RS Logix 500 and 5000.
  • Work efficiently with the workorder system (EAM) to document repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the plant.
  • Traces problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
  • Discusses performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
  • Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
  • Checks newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
  • Use basic Servo Controls and set up VFD operations and parameters.
  • Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on Servo motors, brushed DC motors, and Induction motors.
  • Works closely with the Custom Equipment Process Group on machine improvements.
  • Has the skills to properly use a digital multimeter.
  • Works with maintenance and can assist with troubleshooting electrical problems and provide PLC-support across the plant.
  • Concisely and accurately documents set-points and parameters for equipment.

The Weekend Controls Technician will assume advanced tasks relating to the production machines and will troubleshoot all electrical and Mechanical problems on equipment, including PLC controls. This position is responsible foranalyzing equipment to troubleshoot problems and making any necessary repairs to electrical,mechanicalor PLC programming changes related to production reliability.

Compensation:

$28.00 - $42.00/hr, based on experience + $3 shift differential
