Community Resource Network of Florida

A caregiver who is fun, compassionate, dependable, and committed to helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) achieve their highest level of independence and live their best life.

The individual is a 39-year-old male in need of a companion to support him with community outings and socialization. He enjoys participating in Special Olympics events such as bowling and basketball.

This is an independent contract position paying $15.25 per hour.

Schedule: Saturday and Sunday between 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

You will be a good fit for this position if you:

  • Have a positive outlook and contagious energy
  • Demonstrate patience and compassion

Responsibilities and duties you can expect in the role:

  • Encourage and support the individual during home activities
  • Ensure individuals' safety and maintain a safe living environment
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks
  • Facilitate community involvement by accompanying the individual to social events, community outings, such as grocery shopping and appointments
  • Promote communication, choice, independence, and socialization
  • Complete daily progress notes

Qualifications and skills:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass local and Level 2 background screening
  • Proven 1 year of caregiving experience or technical training
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Age 18 or older
