Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid SD Driver's License or ability to obtain one within 45 days of appointment and clean driving record.
• First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within six months of appointment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing and activities for the Community Service Unit.
• Assist with animal control, parking code enforcement, and minor civil and traffic control duties.
• Conduct inspections of establishments and animals to ensure compliance with laws and ordinances.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all situations.
• Represent the department in public relations activities and educational forums.
• Respond to traffic/road hazard complaints and assist with traffic control during events and incidents.
