Job summary

Precinmac in Oregon is seeking a Shop Floor Expeditor to help move production orders through a high‑precision machining environment. You will collaborate with production schedulers, supervisors and managers to assess progress, resolve bottlenecks and ensure customer deadlines are met.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of scheduling experience in manufacturing, an AS degree or equivalent, and strong ERP/MRP and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure open shop orders are completed by required dates per customer orders.
• Review production schedules, work orders, routings and drawings.
• Arrange for delivery, assembly or distribution to expedite flow of materials.
• Establish and review priority among open orders to optimize the schedule.
• Manage short lead time shop orders and expediting delivery as required.
• Provide daily updates for past due and short lead orders to Production Control.
• Escalate material issues to Production Planning and Scheduling promptly.
• Work with Purchasing to advise of raw material shortages as required.
• Examine documents and monitor processes for conformance to standards.

Salary Range: $20.00 to $23.00 Hourly

Shop Floor Expeditor

Position Purpose

Assists Production Schedulers, Supervisors and Managers with managing product flow through the plant. Duties include reviewing and distributing production work; collaborate with department managers and leads to determine progress of work and completion dates; utilize available resources to problem solve when issues arise.

• Ensure open shop orders are completed by required dates according to the customer order requirements.
• Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, routings and drawings.
• Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
• Help to establish and review priority among open orders to optimize the production schedule.
• Manage short lead time shop orders (RPM), expediting delivery as required.
• Provide the Production Control Team with daily updates for past due and short lead orders.
• Escalate material issues to Production Planning and Scheduling in a timely manner.
• Work closely with the Purchasing Department to advise of raw material shortages as required.
• Examine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.

Education/Qualifications

• AS degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 3 to 5 years scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment (machine shop experience is a plus).
• Must be methodical, thorough, and a team player.
• Understanding of logistics and scheduling.
• Understanding of lean concepts.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Proficient with ERP/MRP.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs.
• Good problem solving skills.

Physical Demands

• Physical demands vary and will include: Frequently - walking, bending, reaching and repetitive motions.
• Occasionally - kneeling, squatting, stooping, handling and climbing.
• Lifting and pulling continuously up to 15 pounds, frequently from 15 to 25 pounds, occasionally from 25 to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

The work environment for this position is that of an industrial machine shop/production facility. Employees may experience loud noises, at varying levels, throughout the workday.
