Job summary

MercyOne Centerville Medical Center in Centerville, IA is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant – Medical/Surgical to deliver compassionate patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role covers pediatric to geriatric patients during 12-hour weekend shifts from 5:45 AM to 6:00 PM.

You will perform various patient care activities, assist with feeding and mobility, ensure safety, and help maintain unit cleanliness while upholding AIDET and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Aide certificate required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• BLS and Iowa Mandatory Reporter Adult and Child must be obtained within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care activities and related non-professional services for personal needs and comfort.
• Cares for patients from infant to geriatric based on unit scope.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup and maintenance.
• Must be able to visibly assess patient's safety needs.
• Always prioritizes safety in all tasks.
• Rotates shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• May float to other areas if needed.
• Takes call as defined by hospital policy.
• Assists with unit cleaning and supplies stocking.
