Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center in Huntingdon, TN, seeks a compassionate Resident Activity Aide to plan and participate in individualized and group activities, document participation, and contribute to a caring daily routine.

The role emphasizes resident comfort, family communication, teamwork with the activity director, and the use of therapy modalities to enrich lives. This is a full-time on-site position at the center.

Qualifications

• Hold an active Certified Nursing Assistant license in TN.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn new modalities and approaches.
• Good listener with strong communication skills.
• Builds rapport easily with residents, families and staff.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines.
• Good communication, both verbal and written, with confidentiality.
• Able to support residents and families facing end of life issues.

Responsibilities

• Assists the resident activity director as needed.
• Utilizes the environment to provide comfort and stimulation to residents.
• Fosters a sense of community within the center.
• Leads and participates in individual and group activities.
• Uses various models (pet therapy, music therapy, art therapy) for programming.
• Decorates the facility and prepares for events and seasonal parties.
• Develops and posts monthly activity calendars for residents and families.
• Participates in recreational programs for residents in rooms.
• Promotes volunteer efforts in the community.
• Maintains records of activities and attendance.
• Stores equipment and cleans area after activities.
• Supports resident well-being using Biopsychosocial approach.
