Job summary

Profound Healing Center is seeking a Part-Time Weekend Chef to oversee culinary operations and meal prep during weekend shifts, ensuring nutritious meals and strict food safety.

The role is Saturdays and Sundays (12-18 hours/week) at the Profound Healing Center location, reporting to the Program Manager/Head Chef. Requires formal culinary training, ServSafe, TB test, CPR/First Aid, and familiarity with dietary restrictions.

Qualifications

  • Formal culinary training or equivalent professional cooking experience.
  • Previous experience as a Chef, Cook, or similar role.
  • Current ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare healthy meals for weekend shifts (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks).
  • Ensure meals are prepared, presented, and served timely.

Salary Range: $26.00 To $27.00 Hourly

Job Title: Part-Time Weekend Chef
Department: Culinary Services
Reports To: Program Manager / Head Chef
Employment Status: Part-Time or Contractor
Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays (approximately 12-18 hours per week, based on facility needs)
Location: Profound Healing Center

Position Summary

The Part-Time Weekend Chef is responsible for overseeing culinary operations and meal preparation during weekend shifts. This position prepares nutritious, high-quality meals for clients while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer service. The Weekend Chef ensures continuity of kitchen operations and supports a positive dining experience for clients with diverse dietary needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for clients during weekend shifts.
  • Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served in a timely manner.
  • Accommodate special dietary requirements, including allergies, vegetarian, vegan, and other prescribed meal plans.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, food preparation areas, and storage spaces.
  • Follow local, state, and federal health and sanitation regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate purchasing needs to the Head Chef or management team.
  • Assist with food ordering, receiving, and proper storage of food products.
  • Maintain organization of kitchen supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, Joint Commission requirements, HIPAA, and 42 CFR regulations.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and team members.
  • Support special events or culinary requests as needed.
  • Perform other duties and projects assigned by management.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Formal culinary training or equivalent professional cooking experience.
  • Previous experience working as a Chef, Cook, or related culinary role.
  • Current ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Current TB test.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Strong understanding of dietary restrictions and specialized meal preparation.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, residential treatment, or hospitality settings.
  • Experience preparing meals for groups and managing food costs and inventory.
  • Passion for preparing healthy, high-quality meals.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and food presentation.
  • Positive, energetic, and professional attitude.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and perform repetitive kitchen tasks.
  • Ability to safely work around hot surfaces, sharp utensils, and commercial kitchen equipment.

The position operates within a behavioral health and substance abuse treatment environment. The employee must maintain professional conduct, confidentiality, and compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements. Weekend and holiday availability may be required.
