Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Weekends Capacity Procurement Representative - IC in Lowell, Arkansas.

The role focuses on negotiating carrier rates to meet load expectations while driving margins. You will market Carrier360 to carriers, build a carrier base, and ensure timely freight coverage with best-in-class service execution. The position requires flexibility to work weekends, strong communication, and ability to adapt in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with up to 1 year experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, and/or equivalent military experience
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
• Demonstrated strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Proven experience in maintaining healthy customer relationships and delivering on commitments
• Ability to analyze information accurately and make informed decisions
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
• Comfort conducting difficult conversations and holding others accountable
• Capable of performing under stress and high pressure

Responsibilities

• Negotiate with carriers for the optimal purchase rate to meet revenue and profit margin goals
• Act as liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers
• Manage freight in transit with updates from carriers to monitor movement and ensure on‑time pickup and delivery
• Use Carrier360 Platform to tender loads and maintain shipment records
• Proactively communicate service failures to internal teams to minimize cost and inefficiency
• Partner with internal teams to promote best-in-class service and safety
• Leverage Carrier360 to increase efficiency with carrier base
• Verify authenticity of carriers and tracking prior to pickup
• Stay informed on market trends to optimize negotiation tactics
• Understand customer service expectations to provide timely transportation updates
