Job summary

Senior Helpers of Lee's Summit is seeking compassionate Home Health Aides (HHA) to support seniors at their homes, including those with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Training is provided, and flexibility with schedules is emphasized to fit your availability.

Join a team that values high-quality care, safety, and independence for clients. Prior caregiving experience is a plus, but we will train the right candidate who has a heart for the elderly.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Must pass a state background check.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with valid auto insurance.
• Have at least 6+ months of previous work history.
• High school graduate or GED certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance with hygiene, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Assist mobility and safe transfers using wheelchairs, walkers, or lifts.
• Plan and cook nutritious meals per client preferences.
• Give medication reminders and track schedules.
• Offer companionship and engage in activities for emotional well-being.
• Provide specialized care for clients with Alzheimer’s or Dementia.
• Drive clients to appointments or errands as needed.
• Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean living space.

Position Overview

As a Home Health Aide / Caregiver, you will provide compassionate assistance with daily needs and personal care. Adhering to a customized care plan, you will ensure clients feel supported, safe, and comfortable in their homes at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal Care Assistance (ADL's): Assist with hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, mouth and skin care, and toileting.
• Mobility Support: Help clients transfer and move safely using wheelchairs, walkers, gait belts, or hoyer lift/sit-to-stand.
• Meal Preparation: Plan and cook nutritious meals according to client preferences and needs.
• Medication Reminders: Ensure clients take their medications safely and on schedule.
• Companionship: Engage clients in meaningful conversation and activities to support emotional well-being.
• Specialized Monitoring: Provide specialized observation and care for clients living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
• Transportation & Errands: Drive clients to doctor appointments, grocery stores, or beauty salons using your vehicle or the client's vehicle.
• Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean living space by vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, gathering trash, changing bed linens, and doing light laundry.
