Job summary

Visiting Angels Abilene is seeking a Weekend Caregiver to support seniors in the Big Country area. The role offers a variety of shift options, including 8, 10, 12 hour shifts and PRN. A pathway for ongoing training in dementia or Alzheimer's care is provided to grow your skills.

Responsibilities include helping with medications, mobility, personal care, meals, shopping, light housekeeping, and providing a caring, reliable companionship. Training emphasizes safety and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Respectful and compassionate with good time management.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients.
• Do the client's shopping or accompany them when they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.
