Job summary

Visiting Angels of Fayetteville is seeking weekend caregivers to support clients throughout the local area with flexible schedules and competitive wages. You will assist with daily living activities and companionship, enabling clients to remain independent in their homes.

Training opportunities are available, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, and you’ll join a nationwide network committed to quality in-home care and ongoing growth opportunities for dedicated team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance and reliable vehicle preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• First aid and emergency response training provided if needed.
• Ability to juggle multiple duties with good time management.
• Reliable transportation to client homes as scheduled.
• Comfort with mobility, meal prep and light housekeeping.
• Willing to comply with health and safety standards including background checks.
• Compassion and a desire to brighten each client’s day.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Provide light exercise or walks with clients.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide companionship and supportive engagement.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take medications as prescribed.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments.

As a Visiting Angels Weekend Caregiver, you'll play a vital role in enriching the quality of life of clients and supporting their wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. This can include:

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
• Planning and preparing meals with clients
• Handling light housekeeping duties
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies
• Accompanying and supervise clients during shopping trips
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands

Weekend Caregiver Job Requirements:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Posses a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• Training in First Aid and emergency response is required (provided if needed)
• Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once
• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care
• Feel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client
• Feel comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints
• Are willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)
• Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client to the table
