Job summary

Visiting Angels Fayetteville is hiring weekend caregivers to enrich clients' quality of life across Fayetteville, Hope Mills, Spring Lake and surrounding areas. You will provide personal care, mobility support, meal prep, light housekeeping, and reliable companionship as part of a trusted home-care team.

Requirements include a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license with insurance, and strong communication skills. Training in First Aid and safety is provided if needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent time-management and ability to juggle duties.
• Reliable transportation to client homes and health & safety standards compliance.
• First Aid and emergency response training is required (provided if needed).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care, hygiene, and mobility support.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients and assist with light housekeeping.
• Provide companionship and report health changes or incidents.
• Accompany clients on shopping trips and appointments, supervising as needed.
• Ensure medications are reminded and adherence is supported per plan.

Role

As a Visiting Angels Weekend Caregiver, you'll play a vital role in enriching the quality of life of clients and supporting their wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. This can include:

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
• Planning and preparing meals with clients
• Handling light housekeeping duties
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies
• Accompanying and supervise clients during shopping trips
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands

Visiting Angels offers opportunities for advanced training in areas like dementia care and/or Alzheimer's care for caregivers seeking to broaden their skills.

Weekend Caregiver Job Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Posses a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• Training in First Aid and emergency response is required (provided if needed)
• Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once
• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care
• Feel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client
• Feel comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints
• Are willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)
• Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client to the table
