A Unique Caregiving Opportunity

Visiting Angels is seeking an exceptionally dependable, detail-oriented caregiver to provide evening support to multiple seniors living within an Independent Living community. Unlike a traditional assignment with one client, this specialized position involves moving from apartment to apartment throughout the shift and completing scheduled services for several residents.

Each resident will have an individualized care plan and may need a different type of assistance. Responsibilities may include providing medication reminders, helping a resident prepare for bed, assisting with bathing and personal care, placing a breakfast order for the following morning, or completing another scheduled evening task.

The right person must be highly organized and able to carefully track each resident's needs, scheduled visit time, and completed services. Because residents may move into or out of the community or experience changes in their care needs, the caregiver must also be comfortable adapting to schedule and assignment changes. Dependability, attention to detail, time management, and accurate documentation are essential for this role.

Applicants must be consistently available for both Saturday and Sunday evening shifts on their assigned weekends.

Schedule

• Every other Saturday and Sunday evening
• Approximately 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
• Schedule may vary slightly based on resident needs
• On-site at an Independent Living senior community in Charlotte's 28209 ZIP code

Key Responsibilities

• Travel between residents' apartments within the same senior community
• Follow an individualized care plan for each resident
• Provide medication reminders
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and bedtime routines
• Help residents place meal or breakfast orders
• Provide mobility and transfer assistance when required
• Complete each scheduled visit within the appropriate timeframe
• Document services accurately and promptly
• Report changes in a resident's condition, needs, or routine
• Communicate professionally with residents, families, community staff, and the Visiting Angels office
• Protect each resident's privacy, dignity, safety, and independence
• Adjust to changes in the resident schedule while ensuring no assigned service is overlooked

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous caregiving, personal care, senior living, or home care experience
• Be exceptionally dependable and punctual
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Be able to manage several residents and care plans during one shift
• Work independently while remaining in close communication with the Visiting Angels team
• Remain calm, patient, and flexible when schedules or resident needs change
• Communicate clearly in both spoken and written English
• Be comfortable using a mobile application to review assignments and document services
• Be able to walk between apartments and remain active throughout the shift
• Treat every resident with compassion, patience, dignity, and respect

CPR/First Aid certification and experience with dementia care, bathing assistance, mobility support, or senior living communities are a plus.
