Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas is seeking a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist to assist physicians during catheterization and electrophysiology procedures, prepare rooms and equipment, instruct patients, monitor patient condition, and provide routine and emergency care. The role also contributes to training of team members and participates in quality control initiatives.

You will train staff, participate in governance and LEAN initiatives, and help with data collection and inventory

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or two years of qualifying work experience.
• Less than one year of specific cardiovascular lab experience required.
• Availability for on-call response requirements per facility policy.
• Knowledge of invasive cardiac and vascular techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with arteriograms, catheterizations, and related procedures.
• Follow radiation protection regulations and provide emergency care when needed.
• Perform pre- and post-procedure care and monitoring.
• Orient patients for procedures and answer questions to keep them calm.
• Monitor ECG, pressures, and other vitals; alert physicians to variances.
• Assist with RF/Cryo ablation systems, 3D mapping, and documentation.
• Maintain imaging data and prepare procedure reports.
• Prepare sterile fields and ensure supplies and equipment are stocked.
