Job summary

Northwest Florida Community Hospital seeks a Baylor Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical/Surgical Unit. This weekend Baylor position offers a consistent daytime schedule while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care within a collaborative team.

The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care, administers medications and IV therapy, documents in the EMR, and collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support positive outcomes and safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Current Florida RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred or obtained within required timeframe.
• One year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical experience are encouraged to apply.
• Excellent assessment, communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy safely and accurately.
• Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and communicate findings promptly to providers.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Accurately document all patient care in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case management, and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care.
• Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a patient advocate while providing compassionate, respectful, and professional care.
• Participate in department meetings, continuing education, and competency validation.
