KNWA-TV and KFTA-TV in Northwest Arkansas seek an experienced Weekend Anchor to lead weekend coverage across platforms, produce and anchor newscasts, and mentor a growing team. KNWA-TV and KFTA-TV, the NBC and FOX affiliates in Northwest Arkansas, are looking for an experienced journalist to serve as Weekend Anchor!
We need a hands-on anchor/reporter who is ready to lead by example. You must be a team player and community minded.
Leadership is a must! As the Weekend Anchor, you’ll be expected to lead by example and work with managers to develop an impactful weekend coverage plan across all platforms, while leading and motivating the weekend team. You will produce and anchor newscasts, write stories and approve scripts. You will serve as an MMJ Reporter and fill-in anchor during the week.
The Weekend Anchor must maintain an on-air persona that is friendly, energetic and authoritative, exhibit urgency every day, particularly during breaking news, and have a high-level of engagement on all social media platforms.
Applicants should have at least two years of professional on-air anchoring experience and/or professional reporting experience. Producing experience is preferred.
