KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City is seeking a high-energy weekend morning anchor reporter to lead our newscasts with credibility, poise, and personality. The role requires field reporting, breaking big stories, and connecting with viewers on social media, while meeting tight deadlines and upholding journalistic integrity.

You should be ready to work diverse shifts, including overnights and weekends, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of anchor experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of reporting experience.
• Demo reel reflects everyday work.
• Anchor that connects with viewers, in addition to reporting skills.
• Requires ability to work under pressure and drive coverage decisions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver scripted and ad lib material with professionalism, personality, and purpose.
• Report from the field as directed by management.
• Maintain active social media presence to engage the audience.
• Summarize information into clear, easy-to-digest components.
• Uphold unwavering journalistic integrity and ethics.
• Appear on behalf of the station at public events.
• Perform other duties within newscasts as directed by management.

KOCO-TV, the ABC affiliate in Oklahoma City, OK, is looking for a high-energy weekend morning anchor reporter with proven leadership skills to join our team. In addition to credibility, poise, and personality; we're looking for an anchor who isn't afraid to head out into the field and break the big stories. We are looking for a versatile, enterprising self-starter who is fast, efficient, works well under tight deadlines, can develop sources, and isn't afraid to jump into newscast scripts. We are looking for a weekend morning anchor who can be a newsroom leader with a positive drive to make a difference in our newscasts and in our community. This role reports to the News Director.

Responsibilities

• Deliver scripted and ad lib material with professionalism, personality, and purpose
• Report from the field as directed by management
• Have an active presence on social media that engages the audience
• An ability to summarize information into easy-to-understand components
• Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards
• Appears on behalf of the station at public events
• Other duties within newscasts as directed by management

Requirements

• 2+ years of anchor experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of reporting experience
• Your demo reel is indicative of your everyday work
• Anchor that connects with viewers, in addition to reporting skills
• Can work in all weather conditions, work varied shifts, including overnights and weekends and carry up to 50 pounds
• Have a valid driver's license and a clear driving record
• Can deal with the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast production
• In-person attendance is required
