Job summary

Laurel Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an Activities Director to lead the Activities Department in a long-term care setting. The role involves planning and implementing resident-centered activity programs to address physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs, while supervising staff and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include program development within budget, care-plan collaboration, new resident onboarding, records and charting, and staff recruitment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ADC certification or eligibility by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals.
• Experience as an Activity Director in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Activity Department, supervising staff and ensuring policy compliance.
• Develop and implement new activity programs meeting residents' needs.
• Operate the department within budgetary guidelines.
• Document attendance, participation and behavior changes.
• Participate in care planning with observations of residents' needs and preferences.
• Greet new residents and assist with onboarding.
• Complete administrative tasks including charting and MDS portions.
• Assist with recruitment and selection of Activity staff.

Education
