Job summary

Laurel Park Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Elizabeth City, NC, is seeking an Activities Director to lead, organize, and assess resident activity programs. You will coordinate with nursing and therapy teams to deliver engaging, compliant activities for long-term care residents.

Qualifications

• Be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional with ADC eligibility.
• Eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional.
• One year full-time experience in a patient activities program in healthcare, or equivalent training.
• High school Diploma/Equivalent.
• Activity Director experience in LTAC is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate activities for nursing home residents.
• Comply with local, state, and federal guidelines in activities programming.

Job Summary:

The Activities Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating activities for nursing home residents in compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.

Qualifications:

1. Be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional, such as certified or eligible for certification as an activity director certified (ADC) by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals.

2. Be eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional by a recognized accrediting body.

3. Have one year full-time experience, within the last five years, in a patient activities program in a health care setting, or be a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant or have completed 40 hours training in group activities and recognizing and assessing the activity needs of residents.

4. High school Diploma/Equivalent

5. Activity Director Experience in a Long Term Care Setting preferred
