Job summary

Cooper River Post Acute in Mount Pleasant, SC, is seeking a Weekend Activities Assistant to join our team on Saturdays and Sundays. The role is part-time, with shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, paying $17 per hour.

You will assist the Activity Director, design engaging activities for residents, and help maintain calendars and records. The ideal candidate enjoys working with seniors, has strong communication skills, and can work independently as well as with a team.

Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care or senior activities is preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lead engaging group and individual activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Director in creating and leading programs for residents.
• Plan and conduct individual, small group, and large group activities.
• Encourage participation in crafts, games, music, and reading.
• Assist with resident outings and transportation as needed.
• Help develop monthly activity calendars and attendance records.
• Provide in-room activities for bed-bound residents.
• Assist with assessments, care plans, and documentation.
• Build relationships with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming Activity Department.
