Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services in Oakland, CA is seeking a Weekend Shift Activity Assistant to support residents with therapeutic and diversional activities, ensuring schedules and communications are accurate and posted daily.

You will assist with resident events, maintain activity records, attend meetings, and help decorate the center to reflect seasons or holidays while upholding patient rights and company standards.

Qualifications

• Certification nationally or by the State where practicing.
• Two years’ experience in a social or recreational program setting.
• Strong written and verbal English communication for business needs.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to use own initiative with solid problem solving skills.
• Experience in long-term care setting or related health care field.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient activities (therapeutic and diversional) for all residents in accordance with Federal, State and Company requirements.
• Carries out support tasks relating to patient activities correctly and on schedule.
• Ensures resident activity calendars and communications are updated and posted in a timely manner as well as delivery and communication of patient mail daily.
• Participates in special resident events and outings ensuring necessary supplies are on hand and returned appropriately.
