Job summary

CFS Brands in Oklahoma City is seeking a Process Technician to oversee molding presses, ensuring standard run rates, correct cavities, and conformance to quality specs. You will supervise that all shifts follow established processes, coordinate mold maintenance, and support troubleshooting with the Production Supervisor and Process Engineer.

You will tag molds, write work orders, collect samples, and maintain setup sheets while ensuring safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Technical training or certifications a plus.
  • Experience in plastic manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to use machining equipment, tools and measuring devices.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
  • Mechanical knowledge or experience.
  • Ability to read and understand multimeter AC/DC/Ohm.
  • Injection molding experience preferred (RJG, Robots).

Responsibilities

  • Assist Production Supervisor and Process Engineer with setting priorities on machine startups and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate color changes, work orders and new startups.
  • Ensure molds maintenance is performed per instructions and schedule.
  • Tag molds and write work orders for molds pulled on all shifts.
  • Collect startup/shutdown samples and deliver parts to QA.
  • Inspect mold change setups; ensure presses are ready for startup; maintain setup sheets.
  • Log cycle information, downtime codes and scrap codes in Vorne System.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machines/molds and label resins/colorants.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance/Tool Room on repair work orders.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed by Mold Hangers and Process Technicians.

Job description

The Process Technician is responsible for overseeing that all molding presses are running at standard rates, with correct number of cavities, and that products conform to quality specifications. Assures that all work performed by self or other technicians on all shifts is performed in accordance with established processes, procedures, and practices.

Key Result Areas
  • Assist Production Supervisor and Process Engineer in the activities of setting priorities on machine startups and troubleshooting problem areas.
  • Provide direction and/or coordinate color changes, completion of work orders and new startups.
  • Ensure maintenance of molds is performed according to instructions and schedule.
  • Ensure all molds are properly tagged and work orders written for molds pulled on all shifts.
  • Collect start up and shut down samples from each mold and deliver parts to Quality Assurance.
  • Inspect mold change set ups on all shifts to ensure equipment, materials, and mold set ups are correct and press is ready for startup. Also, prepare, update, and maintain set-up sheets.
  • Drive accountability for ensuring cycle information, downtime codes and scrap codes are accurately coded into the Vorne System.
  • Ensures machines and molds are cleaned, and resins and colorants are labeled and returned to the compounding area at the completion of a production run.
  • Coordinates and communicates with Maintenance and Tool Room on work orders that have been written to ensure the presses/molds are repaired and back into production with a timely period.
  • Assists Shift Supervisor in ensuring Mold Hangers and Process Technicians follow proper safety procedures during the operations of molding presses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Knowledge & Experience: One year certificate from college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Injection molding experience, RJG, Robots, Etc.

Travel Required: Up to 10% travel, in support of multiple distribution centers and corporate initiatives.
