Job summary

Owenton Healthcare and Rehab in Kentucky is seeking a licensed LPN to provide bedside patient care, monitor vital signs, and support the care team across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered plus shift differentials and growth opportunities.

The role involves administering medications, recording health data, collaborating with RNs and physicians, and ensuring accurate documentation in patient records. Long-term care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in State.
• One year of experience in long-term care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care to patients.
• Record patients' vital signs.
• Collect patient health information.
• Relay information between patients, RNs, and physicians.
• Give oral medications and injections.
• Test blood sugar levels.
• Urinary catheter insertion and care.
• Assist with personal hygiene.
• Monitor for changes in patients.
• Chart, document, and maintain medical records.
• Ask questions for clarification from RN.
• Model professional conduct for staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.

LPN Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care to patients including personal hygiene maintenance
• Record the patients’ vital signs (including blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate)
• Collect patient’s health information
• Relay information between patients, registered nurses, and physicians
• Give oral medications and injections to patients
• Test a patient’s blood sugar levels
• Urinary catheter insertion and care
• Assist patients with personal hygiene
• Monitor for changes in patients
• Proper charting, documentation, and maintenance of patient’s medical records
• Asks questions when in doubt for clarification by the Registered Nurse.
• Acts as a role model for ancillary personnel.
• Maintains the confidentiality of the patient’s clinical records.

LPN Requirements

• Current LPN license in State.
• One year of experience in long-term care is preferred.
