The Monster Minders is hiring a Dog Walker for the Society Hill and Old City neighborhoods of Philadelphia. You’ll lead outdoor, year-round dog walks with a reliable schedule, joining a team with paid training and office support.

Expect 5–6 hours of walking per day, 8–12 walks, and a Monday–Friday routine with weekends off. Experience with dogs is preferred; transportation between visits is required.

The Monster Minders is hiring a Dog Walker in the Society Hill and Old City neighborhoods of Philadelphia.

If you enjoy being outside, working independently, and getting to know the dogs who make every block more interesting, this could be your kind of workday. We've been at this for over 20 years and you'll be joining an established crew. You’ll also have a team behind you, with paid training, office support, and coworkers who understand the work.

The Job at a Glance

• Monday through Friday, typically between 10:00 AM and 4:30 PM
• We do not operate during the weekends - every Saturday and Sunday OFF
• Most days include 8 to 12 dog walks
• An active workday with 5 to 6 hours of walking
• A consistent weekday schedule with established clients
• Outdoor work year-round, including heat, rain, and snow

What You’ll Do

• Give dogs safe, attentive, one-on-one walks
• Follow each client’s care and home-entry instructions
• Travel between clients’ homes throughout the day
• Handle dogs of different sizes, breeds, personalities, and energy levels
• Write thoughtful visit updates that keep clients informed
• Communicate questions, concerns, and changes to our office
• Participate in paid training and occasional paid staff meetings

What We’re Looking For

You’re reliable, comfortable making decisions independently, and attentive to the details. You understand that showing up on time, following instructions, and communicating clearly are essential when someone trusts you with their dog and home.

You’ll need:

• Experience caring for dogs, either personally or professionally
• Monday through Friday availability during the hours listed above
• The stamina to comfortably walk 5 to 6 hours per day
• Strong written communication skills
• Professionalism and good time management
• Confidence handling dogs with a range of temperaments
• Reliable transportation between visits, such as a bike, scooter, motorcycle, or car
• Comfort working outdoors in every season
• A commitment to staying in the position for at least one year

Experience caring for dogs, working independently, or helping customers is a plus. Professional dog walking experience is especially welcome.
