Job summary

Thimble Alterations LLC is building a network of independent alteration professionals specializing in bridal and wedding wear. This role focuses on altering gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and formalwear, with fittings and precise measurements.

As an independent contractor, you will decide which projects to take on, work from home, and engage with local clients supplied via the platform. Flexible scheduling and the opportunity to grow your client base are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations.
• Strong garment construction knowledge and precise measurements.
• Machine and hand sewing proficiency.
• Professional communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers).
• Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle).
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly.
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings.
• Receive requests for prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
