Job summary

Thimble Alterations LLC is seeking independent contractors experienced in bridal and women's formalwear alterations. You will alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and related garments, conduct fittings, take accurate measurements, and communicate timelines clearly.

You’ll deliver high-quality finishes while maintaining an organized workspace suitable for fittings. The platform provides local client requests and opportunities to grow your profile.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal or women's formalwear alterations.
• Strong garment construction knowledge and precise measuring skills.

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses.
• Conduct fittings and take precise measurements; communicate timelines clearly.
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace for fittings.
• Adapt to requests such as prom dresses, evening gowns, and other formalwear.
• Collaborate with clients to grow repeat business and reviews.

Join our network of independent alteration professionals specializing in bridal and wedding wear.

What You\'ll Do

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers)
• Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle)
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings
• We also receive requests for prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formalwear.

Requirements

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women\'s formalwear alterations
• Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
• Machine + hand sewing proficiency
• Professional communication and customer service
