Job summary

SLB in Sugar Land, TX seeks an experienced WL Field Engineer to maintain safe, efficient service delivery for PSD to customers. You will lead complex wireline jobs, manage risk, mentor junior staff, and promote SLB solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance and high quality standards.

You will develop customer relationships, support bids, and participate in safety and quality initiatives, travel to remote wellsites as required, and assume duties of senior roles when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• 10+ years in wireline field operations with customer-facing delivery.
• Proven leadership of complex wireline jobs with safety and quality focus.
• Strong knowledge of wireline tools, wellsite ops and best practices.
• Excellent problem solving and decision making under pressure.

Job description

The WL Field Engineer is responsible for maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable PSD to Customers. The WL Field Engineer identifies opportunities to improve service delivery, implements standard work, and manage, risk during service delivery.

• Ensure job deliverables are accurate and delivered on time.
• Execute service delivery to the customer.
• Participate in job risk analysis and continual improvement programs.
• Assist the Design/Technical Engineer with implementing technical programs and bids.
• Develop customer contacts to promote company products and services.
• Ensure company and regulatory standard compliance by implementing the Compliance Assessment Tool (CAT), self-assessments, and wellsite inspections.
• Lead Service Quality Meetings with customers and improve performance using action plans.
• Participate in HSE and Quality initiatives.
• Wear PPE and observe HSE policies.
• Maintain the required safety training.
• Provide backup to the Job Delivery Lead and PSD Managers in their absence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 10 years of Wireline field operations experience, including direct responsibility for customer-facing service delivery, risk management, job execution, and operational leadership.
• Proven experience leading complex wireline jobs while maintaining safety, quality, and service standards.
• Strong knowledge of wireline tools, technologies, wellsite operations, and industry best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills in high-pressure operational environments.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and field specialists.
• Strong customer relationship management and business development skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively and work at remote wellsite locations.
• Ability to meet all medical, safety, and training requirements for field operations.
• Previous experience as Senior Field Engineer, General Field Engineer, Job Delivery Lead, or equivalent.
• Experience with offshore and/or high-profile land operations.
• Knowledge of Schlumberger/SLB service delivery processes, CAT implementation, and wellsite inspections.
