Qualifications

  • Expertise in WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Liberty Profile, Tomcat.
  • Strong knowledge of Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE).
  • Experience with middleware technologies.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages for automation (e.g., Python, Bash, or Jython).
  • Understanding of network and server administration.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Middleware Engineer plays a vital role in organization by managing and maintaining the middleware infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration of various systems, and optimizing the performance of middleware components. This position is crucial for the smooth functioning of IT operations, as it directly impacts the overall efficiency and reliability of systems.

In this role, you will:

· Install, configure, and maintain WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environments,Liberty Profile and Tomcat.

· Perform deployments of web applications on WebSphere servers.

· Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize server performance.

· Manage WebSphere clusters and ensure high availability and scalability.

· Configure security settings, including SSL certificates, user authentication, and role-based access controls.

· Patch WebSphere servers to address vulnerabilities and enhance performance.

· Provide support for application teams and resolve environment-related issues.

· Document procedures, configurations, and operational guidelines.

· Work on AWS cloud migration projects.

· Work with on-site and off-shore teams.

· Knowledge of logging tools (e.g., Splunk) and monitoring tools(Dynatrace).

· Provide hands-on technical solutions to business challenges & translates them into process/technical solutions.

· Design, development, and delivery of WAS application including Clustering through network deployment.

· Interpret requirements, performs highly complex analyses and presents options and recommendations to obtain desired results.

· Develop advanced technological ideas and guides development into a final product.

· Design, development, and delivery of WebSEAL implementations.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $49,001 to $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
