Job Description:
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Operates rubber-tired, skid steer, or crawler tractors with attached scoop buckets to load materials, perform excavation, or operate with attachments as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Start engines, operate controls, and manage machine functions.
- Signal truck drivers to facilitate loading operations.
- Identify and avoid hazards such as utility lines, other equipment, workers, and falling objects.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oiling and greasing.
- Adjust equipment as necessary for optimal operation.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow all safety policies and report unsafe activities.
- Contribute to team efforts to meet departmental and company goals.
- Lead by example and share knowledge with team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Less than a high school diploma with related construction experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVEL
- Perform strenuous physical activities as part of daily tasks.
MANUAL DEXTERITY
- Adequate manual dexterity to handle items, work with fingers, and perceive attributes of objects.
