Job Description:

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Operates rubber-tired, skid steer, or crawler tractors with attached scoop buckets to load materials, perform excavation, or operate with attachments as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Start engines, operate controls, and manage machine functions.
  • Signal truck drivers to facilitate loading operations.
  • Identify and avoid hazards such as utility lines, other equipment, workers, and falling objects.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oiling and greasing.
  • Adjust equipment as necessary for optimal operation.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow all safety policies and report unsafe activities.
  • Contribute to team efforts to meet departmental and company goals.
  • Lead by example and share knowledge with team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Less than a high school diploma with related construction experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVEL

  • Perform strenuous physical activities as part of daily tasks.

MANUAL DEXTERITY

  • Adequate manual dexterity to handle items, work with fingers, and perceive attributes of objects.
