Job summary

Ferrovial’s Webber division is hiring for a General Labor/Construction Helper to support foreman and skilled craft workers around the Jacksonville airport. You will perform essential site tasks, assist with materials and equipment, and help ensure safety and efficiency on site.

Requires ability to perform heavy physical work, perform duties under supervision, and hold a valid driver’s license. Background check for security clearance is required; MVR must be clear.

Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB Assist Foreman and skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties under close supervision. Usually an entry level position as the first step to learn a skill.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Digging, spreading and leveling dirt, sand and gravel using a pick, shovel or rake.
• Lift, carry and hold construction materials, tools and supplies.
• Clean tools, equipment, materials and work area.
• Mix, pour and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel and other materials using hand tools.
• Join, wrap and seal sections of pipe.
• Perform a variety of routine non-machine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, placing pipe sections in trench and assembling sections of pipe.
• Perform a variety of machine tasks such as tapping soil, jack hammering and assisting in the fusing of pipe.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
• Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Must be able to drive.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position involves work at and around the Jacksonville airport. As such, the candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check for security clearance. Additionally, a clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is essential.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Less than a High School Diploma
