Job summary

Ferrovial and its subsidiary Webber are offering a 12-week internship program in Texas to kickstart a career in heavy civil, waterworks, and infrastructure management. The role provides hands-on support across Safety, Survey/Estimating, Project Supervision, and Field Engineering within Webber’s teams.

You will gain exposure to JHA/HSO, PPE usage, plan interpretation, surveying, and material estimation while collaborating with field crews and mentors.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Science/Management, or related 4-year degree program.
  • Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications.
  • Moderate to high level of computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
  • Full understanding of Construction Math concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Gain understanding of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Hazard Safety Observations (HSO).
  • Know and apply necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for jobsite activities.
  • Observe and prevent safety incidents.
  • Learn how to interpret plans and set layouts.
  • Understand how to survey for quantities.
  • Gain knowledge in conversions and accurate surveying practice.
  • Assess man-hour estimates and materials needed for production.
  • Communicate and delegate work plans to field crews.

The Internship will provide on-hand support to various roles within Webber.
