Job summary

Ferrovial, a global leader in infrastructure, invites you to join Webber in Houston for a 12-week Internship. You will work across Safety, Survey/Estimating, Project Supervision, and Field Engineering to gain hands-on experience in heavy civil and infrastructure projects.

You will learn to read plans, perform surveys, and apply on-site safety practices while supporting a dynamic team committed to innovation and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Science/Management, or related 4-year degree program.
• Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications.
• Moderate to high level of computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
• Manual dexterity and ability to perform field activities.
• Strong construction math skills and ability to perform calculations.

Responsibilities

• Gain understanding of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Hazard Safety Observations (HSO).
• Know and apply necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for jobsite activities.
• Observe and prevent safety incidents.
• Conduct jobsite audits.
• Learn how to interpret plans and set layouts.
• Understand how to survey for quantities.

Your Role: Driving excellence through technical expertise and innovation

The Internship will provide on-hand support to various roles within Webber. It is a dynamic position designed as a 12‑week program, focusing in each of the following areas: Safety, Survey/Estimating, Project Supervision and Field Engineering. Webber offers internships several locations in our Heavy Civil, Waterworks, Infrastructure Management, and Energy divisions.

What You Will Do:

• Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications
• Moderate to high level of computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
• Full understanding of Construction Math concepts
• Ability to perform moderate to high level of physical activity in field-based construction environment
