Job summary

Webber, a Ferrovial company, is recruiting for an excavator operator to support heavy civil construction projects in the United States. Operate crawler or rubber-tired machines with an excavator bucket to excavate ditches, load trucks, and place rock riprap on active sites.

Work outdoors in varying weather, follow safety policies, and assist with routine machine maintenance. This role requires physical effort and strong attention to site safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Less than a High School Diploma and related construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate a crawler or rubber-tired machine mounted with an excavator bucket.
• Signal truck driver to position loads and facilitate loading of dirt, rocks, and other materials.
• Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions on site.
• May oil, grease, or service the machine and make necessary adjustments.
• Perform other duties as assigned in a heavy civil construction setting.

Job Description:

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Operates a crawler or rubber-tired machine mounted with an excavator bucket. Used for excavating ditches, structures and mass excavations, laying pipe and precast concrete structures, loading trucks and placing rock riprap. May also be equipped with various hydraulic attachments.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines.
• Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate loading of dirt, rocks, and other materials.
• Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
• May oil, grease, or otherwise service the machine.
• Make necessary adjustment to equipment as needed.

Other Duties And Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

• Less than a High School Diploma and related construction experience
