Job summary

DV Trading in Chicago is seeking a Web3 Database Engineer Intern for Summer 2027. You will monitor database health, assist with maintenance, and help troubleshoot incidents while collaborating with data and technology teams to support data needs across the business.

The role requires Python experience, SQL proficiency, and the ability to work onsite five days a week in a fast-paced environment. This internship offers exposure to PostgreSQL/SQL Server/MySQL and opportunities to learn performance

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in CS/DS/Statistics and expected to graduate by Summer 2029.
Solid understanding of relational database concepts (tables, keys, normalization).
Familiarity with SQL and writing queries.
Exposure to PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL.
Experience coding in Python.
Ability to work onsite at our Chicago office five days per week.
Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
Strong communication and eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

Monitor database health, performance, and availability.
Assist in routine database maintenance (backups, restores, patching).
Troubleshoot database incidents.
Support documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
Assist with user access management and security configurations.
Write and optimize basic SQL queries.
Collaborate with software engineers and analysts to support data needs across teams.
Learn database performance tuning and data migration/disaster recovery testing.
