Job summary
WindBorne Systems is seeking a Web Handling/Film Converting Expert to design production systems and scale balloon manufacturing on-site in Redwood Shores, CA.
You will work with the CTO and R&D team to push 100x growth, improve process reliability, and bridge traditional manufacturing with startup agility.
The role requires hands-on experience with web tension, nip rollers, CAD (SolidWorks), and collaboration with external suppliers; base pay ranges from $70k to $150k per year.
Qualifications
- Experience designing web handling and/or film converting machines.
- Desire to join a fast paced startup.
- Proficiency in mechanical CAD and 3D modeling (SolidWorks).
- Experience collaborating with outside manufacturers and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Design and own a system to scale balloon manufacturing by 100x.
- Collaborate with CTO and R&D Engineers to improve performance and manufacturability.
- Identify issues and implement robust solutions to production processes.
- Interact with technicians to teach new procedures and tools.
