Job summary

Job Description

Microchip’s Frequency and Timing Systems (FTS) Business Unit is the world’s leading provider of precise timing and synchronization solutions for telecom, wireless, military, scientific, and enterprise systems. We are seeking a Software Engineer with good Web GUI development experience to help design and develop modern, secure, and scalable user interfaces for embedded and network-connected systems. This role is ideal for an engineer with approximately 5+ years of experience developing Web applications using ReactJS and related front-end technologies, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and software vulnerability management.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2.5 - 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience developing Web GUI applications using ReactJS.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with REST APIs and client-server web application architecture.
• Experience using Git-based source control and modern development workflows.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cybersecurity-focused software development practices.
• Familiarity with security scanning tools such as Black Duck, ZapTool, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of OWASP published security risks and secure web application design principles.
• Experience developing secure software for embedded or network-connected systems.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum software development environments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams.

Pay Range

We offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry. It consists of competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments. In addition to these components, our package includes health benefits that begin day one, retirement savings plans, and an industry leading ESPP program with a 2 year look back feature.

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $70,304 - $143,000.* *Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
