About ACET

The Association for Compensatory Educators of Texas (ACET) is a premier statewide professional

organization providing educators with up-to-date information on federal and state programs that

impact Texas students. ACET advocates for improving educational opportunities for all and empowers

educators to meet students’ evolving needs.

Position Overview

ACET is seeking a part-time Webmaster to manage and maintain our WordPress-based website, ensure

digital content is up to date and accessible, and support registration and online communications

for our statewide conferences. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a user-friendly,

informative, and secure online presence for ACET’s members.

Key Responsibilities

● Maintain and update the ACET website using WordPress (content, links, plug-ins, themes) and

fixing broken links and debugging pages

● Ensure all content is current, ADA-compliant, and professionally formatted

● Monitor site performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure secure operation

● Collaborate with ACET officers and committees to upload and organize content

● Post conference information, registration links, and timely news

● Coordinate with ACET’s email and communication platform as needed

● Assist with technical setup for online registration, including payment tools like WooCommerce and

Authorize.net

● Assist with setup, maintenance, and support of web-based conference applications

● Work with ACET staff and volunteers to support virtual or hybrid conference components (e.g.,

● Offer recommendations for improving user experience, functionality, and platform integration

● Attend key planning meetings and ACET conferences (virtually or in person, if requested)

● Responsible for monitoring and renewing website security certificates to ensure they remain

current and valid

● Maintain and regularly update the ACET technology inventory to ensure accurate tracking of assets

and resources

● Monitoring and analyzing performance to quickly identify any issues and continuously look for

ways to improve

Qualifications

● Experience managing WordPress websites, including plug-ins, themes, and security

● Proficiency in HTML/CSS and experienced with GoDaddy website management, and support of website

management tools and hosting services (no custom coding required)

● Experience with digital tools such as WooCommerce, Zoom, Authorize.net, and vFairs

● Strong organizational and communication skills

● Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate virtually

● Familiarity with ADA compliance standards for web content

● Preferred but not required: Experience supporting nonprofit or professional associations

● Flexible, remote work environment

● Creative autonomy in maintaining a professional and engaging website

Compensation

● $30,000 annually for part-time contracted work
