Web Developer – Content Design (NWS 00790)

THIS POSITION IS SHORT TERM PART TIME, MAX 1000 HOURS PER CALENDAR YEAR

THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE DOE Q-LEVEL CLEARANCE AT TIME OF HIRE

North Wind Services is seeking individuals to contribute to national security within the science, technology, and engineering sectors as part of our supplemental labor team at key federal research and development sites supporting the Department of Energy. NWS has a history of supporting its customers’ missions through various roles, from administrative support to advanced technical positions.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including physicals, drug screening, and background checks to qualify for DOE clearance.

Employees of NWS will work under the direction of technical staff from the research laboratories, with NWS providing pay, benefits, and HR support. The position supports the Counterproliferation Analysis Program System (CAPS) within the Global Security Directorate, supporting Z Program’s Science & Technology Assessments.

Essential Duties
  1. Lead, plan, and develop complex web content management projects.
  2. Collaborate with senior leaders to set standards and coordinate contributions across projects and partners.
  3. Work with customers to define objectives and meet web design specifications.
  4. Develop and oversee web content strategies that accurately represent the program's science and technology.
  5. Apply knowledge of web interface design and HTML coding.
  6. Provide consultation and feedback on web development for sensitive, complex projects with visual components.
  7. Establish quality standards and guide creative processes, serving as the final quality check for high-visibility web products.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Active DOE Q-level or Top-Secret clearance at hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge in content management, graphic design, web production, or multimedia.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, content management systems like Django, WordPress, Drupal, Liferay, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and in diverse teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Active SCI Access.
  • Experience with the Intelligence Community and analytic tradecraft.
  • Knowledge of Atlassian Suite, visualization tools, web application, and database tools.
Special Requirements

Pre-placement medical exam and drug test may be required. The position requires an active Q clearance and the ability to obtain SCI access. All applicants will undergo a background check and drug testing, with eligibility for access to classified information being mandatory.
