Job description

Job Overview

Leidos is seeking a junior Web Developer with experience in Java and Angular. The Web Developer will join an existing Web development team to maintain, upgrade, and develop web applications for the customer.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform operations and maintenance (O&M) of existing web applications in physical and cloud environments.
• Assess and validate software requirements across the organization.
• Provide architectural design and web development support to meet web application requirements.
• Participate in software design discussions and recommend implementation of tools, technologies, and techniques.
• Redesign existing web and software applications to add new features, optimize performance, and improve stability.
• Create, manage, and maintain software systems in AWS.
• Provide O&M and content management support for the Sponsor’s web and software sites.
• Work within Agile project management methodologies.
• Provide occasional on‑call duty as needed.

Basic Qualifications

• Must have a TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of experience, or Master’s degree and at least 6 years of related experience.
• Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining software applications and systems.
• Experience identifying and validating requirements for software or web sites.
• Experience working in Cloud AWS architecture.
• Experience adding new features, optimizing, scaling, or improving stability and performance of applications or web.
• Experience using JavaScript, Java (Spring Boot, Maven, Apache), TypeScript (Angular, NestJS, React, Vue), NodeJS, Express, etc.
• Experience with AWS Cloud Services (S3, RDS, SQS, Lambda, EC2, etc.) and CI/CD familiarity.
• Proficiency in Linux.
• Experience with MySQL or equivalent (Postgres, SQL), developing complex data models, optimizing queries, and using ORM frameworks such as TypeORM for TypeScript.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with software application development.
• Experience with web development.
• Experience programming with HTML.
• Experience with Java Spring/Spring Boot.
• Experience with WordPress.
• Experience developing and administering Windows and Linux applications.
• Experience with SharePoint Administration.

• Expert proficiency with software design patterns and best practices (singleton, decorator, decoupling, domain‑driven).

Current Project Scope

Ground‑up redesign and development of a full‑stack web application using Angular and NestJS, along with RDS MySQL, SE, EC2. Works under limited guidance and handles ambiguity. Requires strong critical thinking skills, test‑driven development, and solid object‑oriented design foundation.

Pay & Benefits

Pay Range: $92,300.00 - $166,850.00. Internal factors considered: responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, alignment with market data, etc. Employment benefits include competitive compensation, health and wellness programs, income protection, paid leave, and retirement.
