This onsite role in Culpeper, VA blends design work in WordPress and Elementor with practical development and content updates using HTML, CSS, and AI-assisted development tools. You’ll work Monday through Friday during regular business hours and earn $55,000 to $70,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Design and build responsive WordPress websites, pages, and landing pages using Elementor, approved brand guidelines, and client requirements
• Maintain existing WordPress and HTML-based sites by updating layouts, navigation, text, images, links, forms, and other content
• Coordinate WordPress core, theme, plugin, and PHP updates through managed hosting tools and approved maintenance procedures, including compatibility checks, documentation, and escalation of complex issues
• Test updates in staging, confirm backup and recovery options, and verify page performance after deployment (mobile layouts, forms, links, integrations, including automated updates)
• Adapt, edit, format, and schedule marketing-supplied blog articles and social media posts for Windstar and selected clients, including checks for business details, factual claims, links, images, tone, brand consistency, and approved SEO fields, with approval prior to publication
• Write occasional website copy or additional content as needed under the approved strategy and editorial calendar
• Implement on-page SEO improvements such as page titles, headings, internal linking, image optimization, and approved redirects; monitor website and search performance and recommend practical improvements
• Apply foundational AEO and GEO concepts using useful content, clear page structure, accurate business information, and approved search optimization practices
• Use approved AI tools to support coding, code review, troubleshooting, and documentation; inspect and test AI-assisted changes, protect client information, and submit code for CEO review before production updates
• Improve usability, accessibility, and performance through readable layouts, keyboard-friendly navigation, appropriate image alternatives, and efficient images
• Gather requirements, explain progress clearly, manage assigned requests, and keep accurate records of changes, testing, approvals, and outstanding issues

Requirements

• Practical experience with WordPress, with samples showing page design, responsive layouts, or useful website improvements
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, including editing existing code and troubleshooting common layout issues
• Basic JavaScript knowledge and familiarity with how WordPress themes, plugins, and PHP affect website behavior
• Sound judgment about when additional technical review is needed
• Clear writing, editing, and proofreading skills, including the ability to adapt supplied material into accurate, readable content for its audience
• Foundational understanding of SEO and awareness that useful, well-structured content supports search and AI-assisted discovery
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, including the ability to explain, check, and test what those tools produce
• Professional client communication, strong organization, attention to visual detail, and reliable follow-through
• Ability to work in person in Culpeper, Virginia

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Elementor (or another WordPress page builder) and managed WordPress hosting tools
• Familiarity with staging, backups, deployments, Git, browser developer tools, and basic PHP troubleshooting
• Experience with search performance tools, web analytics, structured data, local SEO, or conversion tracking
• Experience with accessibility, performance testing, image editing, or design mockup tools
• Experience adapting and publishing blog or social content, maintaining an editorial calendar, or tailoring approved messaging for different audiences
