Caylent is a fully remote AI-first cloud services company seeking a skilled Web Automation Test Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for API and UI testing.

The role requires hands-on Playwright experience (Python/TypeScript) and a track record of building robust automation from the ground up, with CI/CD integration and strong collaboration across engineering and QA teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in web automation testing.
• Strong proficiency with Playwright (Python/TypeScript) for end-to-end web testing.
• Demonstrated experience building automation frameworks from the ground

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain a scalable web automation framework for API and UI/functional testing.
• Develop test strategies, test plans, and automation suites using Playwright (Python/TypeScript) for web applications.
• Create reusable, modular page objects and components to maximize test reuse and maintainability.
• Implement API testing strategies (REST/GraphQL) integrated with UI tests where appropriate.
• Write clear, maintainable automated tests with robust assertions and meaningful reporting.
• Integrate tests with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
• Configure test data management, environment handling, and test environment provisioning.
• Implement parallel test execution, flaky test handling, retry strategies, and test isolation.
• Monitor test results, analyze failures, and provide timely root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to ensure quality goals are met.
• Document framework usage, coding standards, and onboarding guides.
• Stay current with automation tooling trends and propose improvements to testing infrastructure.
