Job summary

Groundwork Outdoor Living is seeking a Web Architect in San Jose, CA, on-site, for a long-term contract (W2). You will drive the development architecture and middleware strategy for digital platforms, bridging core app developers and infra engineers, with a focus on DevOps automation.

Responsibilities include designing modular frameworks, managing middleware, and enabling CI/CD pipelines with blue-green deployments. Expertise in microservices, event-driven design, and API governance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience designing modular, scalable web architectures using microservices and event-driven patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design modular web application frameworks using microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Architect and manage middleware including message brokers, API gateways, and ESBs.
• Build DevEx automation: containerized dev stacks and automated testing gates.
• Establish APIs, versioning, and cross-service communication standards.
• Design distributed caching and database pooling to minimize latency.
• Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines and blue-green deployments.
