Job summary

Bloomberg Industry Group in Arlington, VA is seeking a DevSecOps oriented software developer to join a collaborative team and contribute across the lifecycle. You will design, implement, and deliver high-quality code following Bloomberg INDG best practices.

You will work on cloud-native architectures using AWS, serverless, and microservices, with an emphasis on secure, scalable solutions and automated testing, deployment, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of software development experience and/or commensurate skills building commercial applications with modern software engineering practices.
• Demonstrated record of participating in distributed software delivery teams using Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps practices.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies i.e. AWS, Serverless, Event Driven Architecture, SOA, MicroServices, Microfrontend, CI/CD, Infrastructure as code, and other modern technologies.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, architecture/design patterns, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and deliver high-quality code independently by following Bloomberg INDG best practices.
• Understand and make well-reasoned design decisions and tradeoffs in your area; able to work in other areas of the codebase with guidance.
• Diagnose and fix production issues.
• Communicate with the development lead to raise issues and identify potential barriers in a timely fashion.
• Build enterprise applications at-scale using demonstrated expertise in computer science fundamentals.
• Develop clean code to accomplish project goals that is scalable, high availability, and performant, leveraging knowledge of Programming, Infrastructure as Code, Networking, and Information Security.
• Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
